One China's court has condemned a group of top individuals of a well-known Myanmar mafia to execution as Beijing maintains its campaign on scam networks in Southeast Asian region.

In all, twenty-one Bai family figures and partners were found guilty of fraud, homicide, assault and various crimes, stated a official report published on the judicial portal.

The group is among a handful of mafias that became dominant in the 2000s and changed the poor backwater town of Laukkaing into a wealthy hub of casinos and entertainment zones.

Recently they pivoted to scams in which many of illegally moved people, a large number of them from China, are ensnared, abused and compelled to scam targets in illegal operations worth huge sums.

Details of the Sentencing

Syndicate head the patriarch and his son Bai Yingcang were included in the several individuals given to execution by the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court. Another individual, A third figure and Chen Guangyi were the remaining sentenced.

A couple of members of the clan mafia were handed delayed executions. Several were given to permanent incarceration, while more figures were given prison terms between three to 20 years.

In 2023, the law enforcement released arrest warrants for the leading individuals of such clans.

Bai Suocheng, the clan's leader, was included in the warlords who were transferred to Beijing from the country in recent months.
