One two-month cruise through the Land Down Under has been cancelled following the fatal incident of an older woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a isolated coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the group for a break. The ship departed without her and came back after some time after the personnel discovered the woman was not present.

A large-scale rescue mission located her person the next day.

Authorities are investigating the event, alongside investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator stated that passengers and staff on the vessel were informed that the rest of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".

Through an announcement, he further stated that travelers would be provided a full refund, and said the organization was working "to coordinate the travel back of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

The offspring of the elderly passenger said that her relatives was "stunned and saddened that the ship left the island after an organised tour without my mother".

Via her announcement, she characterized her mum as an "energetic elderly person" who was a affiliate of a hiking club.
