Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of performing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
