Recent Details Come to Light Concerning the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

New information has come to light about the tragic demises of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence property on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now being held without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source also disputed several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally refuted published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to accounts of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
